Long hair does get in the way. I've done just about everything that you aren't supposed to with my hair.
But anyway

Which really doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it because in battle, anything can happen that would damage long hair. Not to mention it's a major health hazard. Catches on fire quickly, too.
Which is why Katniss, at the conclusion of the Hunger Games, had shorter hair. It caught on fire from one of the gamemaker's traps.
Really, heroines should have short hair.

In the book I'm writing, my main character (Jay) hates long hair, but her father makes her keep her hair long. At one point she cuts it all off with a knife! God this is so FANTABOULS! I feel like I stalk your profile cause I love your art that much!
